🎄 The First Annual Hawks Holiday Giving Tree Has Landed! (And It’s Adorable.)

CAST Leadership is proud to present our First Annual Hawks Holiday Giving Tree, now officially taking root in the lobby starting December 1 (that is the goal anyway) . This one is mostly for our grown-ups — staff and parents — who want to spread a little warmth this season without needing to buy a yacht or a pony.

🌟 What is the Hawks Holiday Giving Tree?
Students may ask, so here’s the quick version you can use:
"It's a tree full of tags representing the kinds of people served by the Ross Pantry — children, teens, and adults in our Kuna community. Staff and families can pick a tag, buy the item listed, and return it unwrapped. The pantry will distribute everything to families who need support this winter."
Boom. Easy. Helpful. You sound brilliant!!!

 🎁What’s On the Tags?
A mix of winter clothing and hygiene items, ALL going to the Ross Pantry.
And yes, we made sure the tree has:
  • Plenty of items under $10 (toothbrushes, deodorant, socks, etc.)
  • Some mid-range items
  • A few higher-cost ones for anyone who enjoys going big
Choose whatever fits your season and your budget. Every item counts.

 How It Works
  1. Walk up to the tree.
  2. Pick a cute little tag that speaks to your soul.
  3. Scan the QR code on the back to claim it.
  4. Buy the item.
  5. Return it unwrapped by December 12.
  6. Or skip the tree and follow the QR code on the flyer and move onto step 4 LOL.

🎒 Where to Bring Donations
  • Staff & Students: Bring items to Room 29
  • Parents/Guardians: Drop off items at the Front Office
  • (Standard entry rules apply — ID required!)

💙 What Happens Next?
CAST will keep the tree stocked, track the QR form, and help sort everything. All items go directly to the Ross Pantry, supporting families right here in Kuna.
If you or your students have questions about how it works, feel free to reach out to me at sblynch@kunaschools.org and I’ll be happy to help.
Thank you for helping us make this a meaningful tradition! You guys are all the best and your kindness, humor, and big hearts (Hawk hearts?) make our school shine during the holidays.

Let’s make this first year something special.

Warmly,

Ms. Lynch & CAST Leadership

Advisory Competition! Hawks Feed the Need Food Drive Starts Dec. 1 🦅🥫

Hello Advisory Teachers!
CAST is excited to launch our Hawks Feed the Need Food Drive benefiting the Ross Pantry and families in need right here in Kuna. Your Advisory classes will be competing to see who can bring in the most food donations between December 1–12!

 🏆Prize
The Advisory with the most points wins a DONUT PARTY on Tuesday, December 16, provided by CAST Leadership!

🥫Point System

Please remind your students that:
  • 1 point = any non-expired, non-perishable food item
  • 5 points = regular-sized cereal boxes
  • (Cereal is the pantry’s most expensive and most needed item!)

 🍜Most Needed Items
The Ross Pantry specifically requests:
  • Rice
  • Ramen
  • Cereal
  • …but all non-perishable, non-expired food items are appreciated.

 📆Collection Details
  • Students bring items directly to your Advisory classroom
  • CAST will come around on B-days during 3rd block to collect, count, and total points
  • The competition runs Dec. 1–Dec. 12

Reminders
  • Please check that items are not expired
  • Encourage cereal donations if families are able — it helps the pantry most and earns more points
  • CAST will track totals and announce updates
Thank you so much for helping your Advisory get excited about serving others. Let’s fill the shelves at the Ross Pantry and show what Hawks can do when we work together!

Feed It Forward

Supporting Students at Fremont Middle School One Meal at a Time
No student should go hungry. No student should be shamed.
The Feed It Forward program provides a way for our community to support Fremont Middle School students by helping cover student meal debt ensuring every child has access to a healthy, dignified meal at school.

If you are a parent, community member, or business owner please consider donating to Feed it Forward.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Make a Donation
Community members, parents, and organizations can contribute in one of two ways:
  • Add funds through the LINQ online meal payment system (just like adding to your own student’s account).
  • Drop off cash or check at the Kuna School District Office or the Fremont Middle School Office.
Please indicate that the donation is for the Feed It Forward account at Fremont Middle School.

2. Funds Are Applied to Student Meal Debt
Your donation will be used to reduce or eliminate unpaid meal balances for Fremont Middle School students in need.

3. Students Receive Meals Without Shame
When students do not have enough funds in their account, the cafeteria cashier can discreetly use the Feed It Forward account so no student is denied a meal or singled out.

4. Guidelines for Use
To ensure funds help the most students:
  • Only full meals can be purchased with Feed It Forward funds.
  • No à la carte items (extra snacks, desserts, or drinks) will be covered.
  • Second meals are not eligible, as they are charged at the adult rate.
WHY IT MATTERS
  • Combats Hunger – Every student deserves access to nutritious food.
  • Supports Our Schools – Helps manage and reduce student meal debt.
  • Builds Community – Allows individuals to make a direct, local impact.
  • Promotes Dignity – No student experiences lunch shaming or food insecurity at school.
GET INVOLVED
Your contribution directly supports students.
Together, we can Feed It Forward one meal at a time..
